18-year old astronaut-in-training alyssa carson — on track to be the first person to land on mars — has teamed up with smart travel brand horizn studios to co-design space-travel inspired NASA cabin luggage.
the limited edition design celebrates the 50th anniversary of the moon landing on 20 july, and features the NASA logo and commemorative luggage tag inspired by the ground-breaking spaceflight.
the M5 cabin luggage is finished in apollo white with orange and blue trims, and includes a built-in smart charger, 360° spinner wheels and an aerospace-grade polycarbonate hard shell.
the space-travel inspired piece — available from july 19 — is part of a wider campaign, which has seen carson collaborate with horizn studio’s team of designers and engineers in a design study to develop the world’s first luggage for space travel: horizn one.
the teenage astronaut-in-training has drawn on her training and expertise to create visual prototypes of luggage for ‘generation space’.
‘the apollo 11 mission was such an important milestone in our journey to space, and I am so excited to be able to honour this achievement with luggage that will hopefully inspire everyone to push their boundaries,‘ carson says.
